Manchester City have had numerous players who have ingrained themselves into the club’s history and Premier League history.
For example, back in 2022, Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany were inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame in recognition of their efforts for City having both won multiple titles during their time at the club.
Now though, a player currently in Pep Guardiola’s ranks has now been backed to go on to have a similar impact on the Premier League that Aguero and Kompany did as well as some of the other former players in the Hall of Fame.

Darren Bent claims Erling Haaland could become the best Premier League striker ever
When discussing the differences between the players Arsenal have to the ones City have, Darren Bent said this on talkSPORT (4/9 5:27 PM) about Erling Haaland and what sort of legacy he could end up having in the Premier League.
He said: “When you look at what Manchester City have got down the centre-forward [role], you’re talking about, arguably, he’s probably going to go down as one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history, if not the best.”
Haaland is already a prolific Premier League goalscorer
City paid £51m to sign the striker from Borussia Dortmund back in the 2022 summer transfer window.
Having appeared in 102 games with the Blues, Haaland has found the back of the net 97 times, with 70 of those goals coming in the 69 Premier League matches he’s featured in.
This isn’t the first time the talkSPORT pundit has spoken about what the City star can go on to do in the top flight as Bent claimed that if Haaland stays in England for a while he will break Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals.
If the Norwegian carries on scoring goals in the manner he has done since joining City, there’s no doubt that he’ll eventually go down as the best striker the Premier League has ever seen.
