Manchester City are reportedly determined to bring in at least £50 million for one player who has been the subject of intense speculation recently.
City are yet to make a really big sale this summer.
So far, a number of young players have departed the club, and Sergio Gomez also left to return to Spain with Real Sociedad.
But there has yet to be a big departure – but fans are fearful that one could be in the offing.
There has been a lot of talk about Ederson. At first, Al-Hilal tried to land the Brazilian, and now Al-Ittihad are trying.
And of course, there has been more Saudi interest in Kevin De Bruyne – and on publication has provided an update on the pursuit of the Belgian.

Give Me Sport have dropped a lengthy article about De Bruyne, who is a target for Al-Ittihad.
Over the weekend, there was speculation that De Bruyne had agreed personal terms with the club. But journalist Fabrizio Romano has denied those claims.
While there may not be an agreement, apparently De Bruyne has been left ‘impressed’ by the proposal from Al-Ittihad.
According to GMS, City will allow De Bruyne to decide whether he wants to stay or go.
If he decides that he wants to go, then City are said to be ‘determined’ to bring in a fee in the region of £50 million for the playmaker.
And interestingly, it is claimed that Dani Olmo could become a target again, after City stepped back recently.
Olmo shone at Euro 2024, but over the last few days it has been quiet regarding City’ pursuit of the player. Fabrizio Romano actually claimed City were not working on a deal.
£50m would be fair
If De Bruyne decides that he wants to move on, then £50 million seems like a fair asking price for the player.
Ultimately, he is now 33 and has just one year left on his contract, which means City probably cannot really hope to demand much more than that.
To sell a player for £50 million, nine years after he was bought for £55 million, would actually be fairly impressive when you consider the age he is now.
We will see if De Bruyne – branded ‘a world-class player’ by Gary Neville – does give this move the green light and after that, if Al-Ittihad are willing to play ball regarding the transfer fee.
