Pep Guardiola was quizzed about whether Kevin De Bruyne will leave Manchester City ahead of the 2024/2025 season.
On Monday, it was reported that Manchester City were calm about the rumours about De Bruyne agreeing a move to Al-Ittihad.
Fabrizio Romano had also revealed that the City vice-captain’s reported agreed deal to sign for the Saudi Pro League club was untrue.
De Bruyne, much like every Manchester City player who participated in the knockout rounds of Euro 2024 has been given an extended break.
As a result, the Sky Blues legend will not take any part in City’s US pre-season tour.

Pep Guardiola confirms Kevin De Bruyne will stay at Man City next season
The nature of the summer transfer window is for rumours about players’ futures to generate constant headlines.
Considering how important the £54.5 million man remains to this City side, the rumours about a move to Saudi Arabia would have worried the club’s supporters.
However, Pep Guardiola has confirmed during his press conference that De Bruyne is set to stay at Manchester City next season.
Guardiola said via the club’s official website: “No, Kevin is not leaving.”
De Bruyne should be tied down to a new contract by Man City
Now that De Bruyne will stay at the Etihad Stadium, as per Guardiola, Manchester City should be working behind the scenes to tie him down to a new contract.
The Belgian skipper is arguably the best midfielder in the world and despite being 33, he seems like he is not set to undergo a dip in his game anytime soon.
The former VFL Wolfsburg attacker is also one of City’s most reliable performer in the biggest moments; a factor that also makes him incredibly crucial to his side to this day.
With De Bruyne also being one of the leadership figures in the dressing room, the longer he stays at Manchester City, the better their chances will be of remaining successful.
