It has now been revealed how Manchester City feel about the latest story involving Kevin De Bruyne.

It has been widely reported that De Bruyne has agreed a move to Al-Ittihad. Last month, the 33-year-old admitted that at his age, he must be “open to everything” regarding potential transfers — while openly discussing the “incredible amount of money” he could earn if playing in the Saudi Pro League.

Over a week ago, it was claimed that the Manchester City maestro’s preference remains to stay at the Etihad Stadium — despite the interest from Saudi Arabia.

Any reports indicating De Bruyne has agreed a move to Al-Ittihad are “not true”, as per Fabrizio Romano.

How Man City feel about Kevin De Bruyne agreeing Al-Ittihad transfer rumours

The Belgian captain also revealed that he intends to stay at City this season.

But due to the six-time Premier League suggesting that an “absurd” offer could make him rethink his decision, it would be justified for Manchester City supporters to have questions about his future.

But it seems like those within the Etihad Stadium are cool as ice.

According to a report by Manchester Evening News’ Joe Bray, Manchester City are feeling “calm” despite claims suggesting De Bruyne has struck an agreement to join Al-Ittihad.

The club are believed to feel that neither will the Saudi Pro League make a move, nor will the talismanic midfielder leave East Manchester — especially considering he publicly guaranteed that he is set to stay at the Etihad Stadium.

Justified for Man City to feel confident after Kevin De Bruyne promise

Considering De Bruyne openly stated that he will stay at Manchester City, as a club legend, he would be expected to fulfil such a promise.

It would have been fair for the former VFL Wolfsburg attacker to not have made any public comments and then potentially have departed Pep Guardiola’s side.

But now that the decorated technician has committed his immediate future to City, the club have every reason to feel confident that he will stick to his word.

De Bruyne would also perhaps be hoping to bid farewell to the club in front of the club’s fanbase instead of simply leaving during a summer transfer window.

As arguably City’s greatest-ever player, it would be ideal to witness an icon like him get the farewell his status and legacy at the club merits.
