The Belgian manager and his side lived up to the billing as they beat Enzo Maresca and Co 3-1, thanks to a brace from Harry Kane and Trevoh Chalobah’s own goal.
Manchester City fans have praised Kompany’s coaching before as he continues to impress at the Allianz Arena.
As Vincent Kompany’s Bayern side outclassed Chelsea, they were full of praise for their former captain’s footballing philosophy and potential as a manager.

One Manchester City fan lauded Kompany as Bayern dominated Chelsea by simply writing: “Mate, Kompany is a world-class coach.”
Another City supporter went as far as to claim that the Bundesliga winner is the standout manager in world football, stating: “Kompany is the best coach in the world.”
A third Manchester City fan hailed how Kompany set his Bayern Munich side up against Chelsea, writing: “The compactness that Bayern move with in and out of possession is so, so impressive. Kompany is such a brilliant coach.”
A fourth Sky Blues fan also lauded the former Burnley manager’s style of play: “He’s looking like a proper coach. Bayern play some good stuff.”
Considering Pep Guardiola recommended Bayern to appoint Kompany, a fifth Manchester City fan also praised the Catalan and his eye for managerial talent: “Pep Guardiola advised Arsenal to keep faith in Arteta after his very poor start and the 4-0 defeat at the Etihad and he went on to become one of the most successful managers in England. Guardiola also advised [Uli] Hoeness to appoint Kompany, not just an ordinary coach.”
Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan predicted Vincent Kompany to win the Champions League this season if Bayern add defensive reinforcements: “Give Kompany a good defence and he’d win the UCL [UEFA Champions League].”

Manchester City fans would be hoping Vincent Kompany manages them in the future after witnessing his Bayern side boss proceedings against Chelsea.
Pep Guardiola claimed Kompany will manage Manchester City one day, saying in 2023: “I think all of us as [Manchester City] fans will be happy for him to be back. He will be back sooner or later, so I think his destiny is to become a manager of Man City it is written in the stars.”
“It is going to happen I don’t know when but it will.”
Guardiola concluded: “I said sooner or later, he will be manager for City, when I don’t know but I am pretty sure. No [I have not spoken to him about it]. It is my feeling, maybe I am wrong. His work ethic, knowledge of the game, a lot of respect, experience doing what he has done is so difficult and he is doing it really, really well. He knows the club, the environment, our fans and what our people need. The destiny is there.”
