Manchester City have been busy in the transfer market throughout 2025.

Pep Guardiola’s side experienced an underwhelming campaign this time around, and in order to avoid a repeat of the 2024/25 season, Man City plan to sign four to five new players this summer to close the gap to Liverpool.

City began their rebuild in January as they brought in four new players, with Omar Marmoush being the biggest success out of the new faces that arrived midway through the season.

Marmoush has impressed Guardiola and Man City fans since he arrived at the Etihad Stadium; however, the Manchester club have been told that they are about to complete a transfer for a player considered better than the Egyptian, as the Premier League have come to an agreement over a £59m fee.

Man City agree transfer fee with AC Milan for Tijjani Reijnders

It was reported on Friday morning that Man City had their first offer for Tijjani Reijnders rejected by AC Milan, as the Italian club did not think £50m (€60m) was enough to part ways with the Dutch star.

With Man City keen to sign the 26-year-old before the FIFA Club World Cup gets underway, the Premier League side moved fast and have now reached an agreement with Milan for the transfer of the midfielder.

DAZN’s Orazio Accomando has reported that Man City and AC Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of Reijnders, with the transfer fee worth approximately £59m (€70m) in total, bonuses included.

The two clubs are currently working on the final details of the deal, and it should not be long before Man City announce the signing of the Netherlands international.

The signing of Reijnders is a very exciting one for Man City as the Dutch star is a key part of the revamp to Guardiola’s midfield, with the Premier League club also targeting a move for Lyon’s Rayan Cherki.

Fans have been expressing their happiness with the news that City have agreed a fee for Reijnders, and one even believes the signing of the 26-year-old is a better one than Marmoush.

Man City fans delighted with Tijjani Reijnders news

Reacting to the news of Man City agreeing a £59m transfer fee with AC Milan for Reijnders, one City supporter wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Our best signing since Gvardiol”.

A second fan said about the deal: “Perfect replacement to Gundogan in my opinion”.

Another Man City fan would simply say: “Really love this move”.

It is clear that Man City fans are happy with their new midfielder, and that will only increase should the Manchester club be successful in landing their other top targets.
