Manchester City supporters will be hoping that sooner rather than later, their attack returns to its devastating best.
In their last four Premier League games, Pep Guardiola’s men have scored a mere seven goals.
Despite having the league’s joint-top goalscorer in Erling Haaland on their books, Manchester City look like they lack ideas going forward.
City (27) have scored less goals than Arsenal (29), Liverpool (29) and Chelsea (35) in the league this season.
However, in Claudio Echeverri, who is set to join the Sky Blues in January, they have a young talent on their hands who is well-capable of creating and scoring goals at will — as exemplified by his sublime solo strike Sergio Aguero shared on X in March.
Manchester City’s plan for Echeverri is for him to train under Pep Guardiola starting in January in order to be able to cope with the physical demands of the Premier League.

Man City fans excited by Claudio Echeverri after latest assist
It was recently reported that Echeverri will get game time at Manchester City as he is considered a prospect as accomplished as Julian Alvarez was when he was signed by the club from River Plate.
River Plate manager Martin Demichelis feels Manchester City suit Echeverri as the perfect club for his development.
As Sportscenter posted a clip of the Argentine’s dazzling assist for Pablo Solari in River’s 4-0 demolition job of Rosario Central, City supporters expressed their excitement over his impending arrival on X.
A Manchester City fan wrote: “Look at the assist from Echeverri, this is what we needed in the middle as well. This kid can help us with minutes and chaos. Can’t wait for him to start playing for us.”
Another City supporter claimed: “Oh, KDB [Kevin De Bruyne] heir.”
A third Manchester City fan predicted: “This kid is gonna be going straight into the team at this rate.”
A fourth Manchester City wrote: “My little magician.”
A fifth City fan said: “Him assisting Haaland with balls like that”, followed by a pair of ‘hot face’ emojis.
A sixth Manchester City fan posted a picture of Echeverri with the caption: “January 1st, we’re coming.”
Pep Guardiola will not rush Echeverri into Man City team
Recently, it was claimed that Pep Guardiola’s plan for Echeverri is not to rush him into becoming a regular fixture in the Manchester City side as he heads to England from Argentina.
Guardiola does not intend to put any needless pressure on the 18-year-old’s shoulders and as a result, he may merely be a squad player in his first few months at the club.
Furthermore, with City playing far from their best, they will continue to rely on their seasoned figures to help them escape their ongoing rut.

Manchester City supporters will likely be disappointed if that does wind up being the case.
However, the likes of senior attacking midfielders such as De Bruyne and Phil Foden will be hoping that they come to life in the second half of the season, allowing Echeverri the time to find his feet at City.
The teenager will be delighted to know that he already has plenty of admirers within the Manchester City fanbase.
