Man City like 24-year-old ‘quality’ English player who just got relegated, as well as Nunes and Eze

Manchester City reportedly hold an appreciation for Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

At the moment, City are pushing for a new midfielder to play in the middle.

Eberechi Eze and Matheus Nunes are the two players appreciated the most at the moment.

City are looking for reinforcements following the injury to Kevin De Bruyne.

But there is apparently another player that City appreciate with just a week remaining in the transfer window…

According to 90min, Nunes and Eze are the two players at the top of City’s list at the moment.

But they also stated that Dewsbury-Hall is a player they appreciate at the Etihad.

It is suggested by the publication that any potential bids for him could depend on whether or not Kalvin Phillips leaves the Etihad.

Dewsbury-Hall made 31 Premier League appearances for Leicester City last season as the Foxes suffered relegation in May.

In total he’s played 84 games for the club, scoring seven goals and making six assists.

Two of those goals have come this season in the Championship in his first three games.

Dewsbury-Hall a good player, but not Man City standard

This is quite the claim from 90min, although it does read as though he’s not a player the club will push for.

Eze and Nunes seem to be the players City are focusing on at the moment, and the club simply appreciate Dewsbury-Hall. Perhaps City will think about a move if Nunes or Eze are ultimately unattainable.

But hopefully one of Eze or Nunes makes the move, because it’s questionable whether Dewsbury-Hall would be able to step up if he signed for City.

He is a good player, and a good ball carrier. By some accounts, he is far too good for the Championship. And he did win the Players’ Player and Young Player of the Season awards at Leicester after the 2021/22 season.

Indeed, Brendan Rodgers said of him in April 2022 (The Athletic): “He is very honest to the game. He has great industry. He runs, works and presses, and he has quality.”

But City have elite talent in their squad.

It would certainly be a major shock if City came calling.
