Manchester City have been involved in numerous deals during the current summer transfer window.
For example, the Manchester club have seen Stefan Ortega sign a contract extension, they’ve signed Savinho from Troyes and sold Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid.
Even though the on-pitch action is set to begin this weekend with the opening round of fixtures in the 2024/25 season, some details have come to light on some behind-the-scenes business City want to get done.

Man City eager to see Ruben Dias sign a contract extension
A recent report from Football Transfers had this to say on the matter.
It said: “Football Transfers can reveal that Man City are determined to extend Ruben Dias’ contract.
“Sources have informed us that the Citizens are keen to tie their defensive stalwart down to a new deal until 2030 and that talks are ongoing.
“The expectation at Man City is that coach Pep Guardiola will depart the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
“Dias is considered a vitally important piece of the team and they want to ensure that he and other key players are tied to the club long-term as they try to navigate the significant upheaval that Guardiola’s exit will entail.
“Dias’ current contract at the Etihad expires in 2027, so Man City are under no immediate pressure to strike a quick deal.”
Dias has been crucial for City
City signed the defender from Benfica back in the 2020 summer transfer window in a deal worth a fee of £65m.
During his time with the Blues, Dias has featured in 179 games across all competitions, playing a crucial role in the domestic and European success City have enjoyed since his arrival.
Earlier this month, Oscar Bobb named Dias as the best trainer in the City squad due to his mentality and tenacity, highlighting how much of an impressive figure he is.
Described as “fantastic” by Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football in May last year, the Portuguese international undoubtedly deserves to be offered a contract extension.
