Bayern Munich are reportedly showing interest in Manchester City attacker Julian Alvarez.

German journalist Christian Falk claimed last night on Twitter that the Bavarian giants have placed the 23-year-old on their transfer list ahead of the summer.

Alvarez is just about to finish a fantastic first campaign with City.

The star has made 47 appearances across all competitions, and returned a very respectable 17 goals.

Considering he has Erling Haaland in front of him, that is a great tally.

Alvarez, who signed a new deal earlier this year, has really impressed City fans during his time at the Etihad so far.

It has been said by many that he is like a mix of Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero in the way he plays.

Alvarez has already won the Premier League title with City. And he could potentially become a Treble winner by the end of the season.

And of course, he’s also a World Cup winner, playing a big part for Argentina in Qatar.

Apparently Bayern are now keen on the striker. It was also reported recently that Barcelona are keen.

Journalist Falk claims that he, Randal Kolo Muani and Harry Kane are all on their list.

Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany has also stated Bayern have interest in Alvarez.

Bayern Munich can forget about signing Julian Alvarez this summer

Just because City have Haaland does not mean Alvarez will not get game time.

Yes, Alvarez would probably like to play a little more. That is something Aguero suggested recently.

But he probably will do next season given he will be more experienced.

Alvarez could very easily become a regular starter for City next term. The good thing for him is that he’s versatile. He can play right up top, just off the main striker or out wide.

Pep Guardiola has already mentioned about using Alvarez more. The Spaniard said: “He helped me a lot to understand that maybe in the future I have to adjust something to make them both, and Kevin, to make them play. He is an incredible, exceptional player.”

Perhaps Pep may consider using him and Haaland together more next season.

But he is not about to do his old club a favour over one of the most promising players in Europe.
