It has been reported that Manchester City will hold talks with RB Leipzig next week over the potential transfer of Josko Gvardiol.
This comes from Fabrizio Romano, with the previous round of talks claimed to have been scheduled less than two weeks ago.
It seems like Manchester City are now set to speak to RB Leipzig again in order to ensure that they get a transfer over the line for Josko Gvardiol.
Fabrizio Romano: Manchester City set to hold new round of talks to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol
For the longest time, it has been claimed that the 21-year-old has been earmarked as the long-term replacement for the exit-linked Aymeric Laporte.
Considering it was earlier reported that the Croatian wonderkid was ‘keen’ to join the treble-winners, a move seemed easily doable but that has been far from the case.
So much so that Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester City have scheduled a ‘new round of talks’ with RB Leipzig next week to wrap up a deal for Josko Gvardiol.

Romano also provided a reminder about the fact that an initial £67.9 million offer from City was rejected by the German giants, who are demanding at least £85.4 million to sell their prized asset.
Manchester City must sign the youngster at all costs
As frustrating it may be from a fan’s perspective that the deal to sign Josko Gvardiol has been extremely time-consuming, at the end of the day, all that matters is that Manchester City end up signing him.
And that too at a time when Gvardiol can join his new teammates during their pre-season tour.
If City eventually decide to pull out of the swoop, that would not only delay their transfer plans but also lead to them missing out on a generational talent.
Josko Gvardiol has the perfect age and talent on his side to lead the Sky Blues’ defence for the next decade, which is what should and perhaps is making his arrival such a huge priority for the club.
