Hugo Viana could be working diligently behind the scenes to decide which new signings could further bolster this Manchester City side in the winter and during the summer of 2026.
After signing Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, James Trafford, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marcus Bettinelli and Sverre Nypan this summer, Pep Guardiola’s side can largely be happy with their transfer business.
However, Guardiola wants Manchester City to match his ambition at all times and regardless of how his side perform up until the winter transfer window, the Catalan would hope the club’s recruits are always looking out to bolster his squad.
Bradley Barcola was on Manchester City’s radar in the summer to replace Savinho, who was Tottenham Hotspur’s prime target.
However, City fans are hoping the Sky Blues end up signing Bradley Barcola next year.

Manchester City have already scouted Barcola and one fan is hoping that he signs for the English giants in 2026, as he wrote: “We could’ve have it all Bradley… anyway bring him next.”
Another supporter rehashed his post about the Frenchman being the perfect addition instead of Rodrygo, who Manchester City eyed to replace Savinho: “Rodrygo will score goals, a lot of them. He’s very technical, smart and does really well on the right-wing too. But is he as much of a threat as Savinho? Can he stretch the pitch as much as Savinho? How do you replace Savinho? Barcola.”
A third Manchester City fan expects Barcola to be available this summer, while claiming that when Tottenham try signing Savinho in January, he will leave: “I genuinely think he might be available next summer. Savinho will leave at the earliest opportunity now anyway.”
A fourth supporter backed the move to happen, as he simply wrote: “See you in January, son.”
Another City fan named Antonio Nusa as a player he would like Guardiola’s side to sign alongside the PSG winger: “Barcola and Nusa supplying [Erling] Haaland, Cherki and Reijnders orchestrating.”
A sixth Manchester City fan also believes Barcola could sign for them next summer: “Summer 2026, we will be there.”
While finally, a seventh fan simply wrote: “This would’ve been a break the internet, type signing. Holy.”

Cherki named Barcola as his friend via Africa Foot earlier this year, as he said: I know them all. Ousmane [Dembele] and Bradley are good friends of mine. When you have good chemistry on the pitch, it shows off the pitch too.”
Manchester City fans will be hoping their number 10 leverages his friendship with Barcola to persuade him to sign for his side next year.
The pair have played 51 times alongside each other for Lyon, winning 29, losing seven and drawing 15 games.
