Manchester City’s Under-21s and Under-18s have had a pretty good weekend, it has to be said.
On Friday, Manchester City’s Under-21s reached the Premier League 2 play-off quarter-finals thanks to their 2-1 win over their Liverpool counterparts.
And on Saturday, City’s Under-18s were crowned U18s Premier League North winners after a 4-3 victory over Derby County.
City fans were buzzing with two players in particular and backed them to become stars for the senior team in years to come.

Manchester City fans stunned by Divin Mubama and Ryan McAidoo
The first player is Divin Mubama, who scored both goals for the U21s in their win over Liverpool.
The 20-year-old is now on 13 goals and four assists from just 13 appearances this season – and this tally includes an FA Cup goal.
“I want to see Mubama at the Club World Cup,” one City fan wrote on X. “What a guy.”
Another fan said “Mubama is way too good for this level”, while another claimed he “can be our backup for Haaland (lower end team in FA Cup, Carabao Cup etc.)”.
Indeed, City fans have raved about Mubama recently, showing how highly rated he is.
The second player City fans were buzzing with is Ryan McAidoo, who came on in both games and made a big impact in both.
The 16-year-old came on against Liverpool and helped create the winner, before then coming on against Derby and providing a goal and an assist.
“Ryan Mcaidoo is ON FIRE,” wrote one fan.
“Subbed on very late yesterday, ripped a shot, keeper saved, but Mubama pounced on the rebound for the goal.
“Today? Scores 2 mins after coming on, then another rocket saved, Warhurst cleans up the rebound.
“And he’s made us win both games, in the space of 24 hours. This kid’s FIRST TEAM BOUND!!!!”
Another fan wrote: “Just promote McAidoo, anything more than £20m for Dibling is a joke.”
And another supporter said: “What a goal by Ryan McAidoo, we have a good future in our academy.”
Kevin De Bruyne replacement could already be in Manchester City’s academy
It’ll be a bittersweet summer for fans as Kevin De Bruyne prepares to leave Manchester City after a truly wonderful decade at the club.
However, some City fans have already identified a player in the academy who could potentially grow to become the Belgian’s successor.
The player City fans feel could become like De Bruyne is Divine Mukasa, who has an exceptional range of passing, quick feet and sublime technique – reminiscent of a young De Bruyne.

Earlier this year, Mukasa named De Bruyne and Zinedine Zidane as his idols but notably, claimed that he is similar to the six-time Premier League winner as a player.
“[De Bruyne] is similar in terms of always looking to create and score goals,” Mukasa said.
“From the times I’ve trained with them, I’ve tried to pick up as much as I can from the way he behaves, he gives everything every day.”
