Manchester City met with one agent of Kylian Mbappe

It has been boldly claimed that one agent of Kylian Mbappe met with Manchester City officials the day before he reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain he would be leaving this summer.

There was big news in the football world earlier this week involving the French superstar.

Mbappe‘s future is rarely out of the gossip columns, but earlier this week journalist David Ornstein reported that he had informed PSG of his intention to leave on a free transfer this summer.

Since then, there has been lost of speculation about who Mbappe’s next club will be.

Real Madrid have long been mentioned as his most likely destination and many cannot see past the Spanish giants signing him.

There have been some fairly loose links in the past regarding Mbappe making a move to City. But a new, rather bold claim has now been made about Mbappe and Manchester City this weekend…

Somewhat surprisingly, Cadena SER have claimed that one of Mbappe’s agents actually met with Manchester City officials last Monday.

This came one day before Mbappe informing PSG of his intention to leave them at the end of the season.

Apparently it was in an informal capacity.

This representative is one of three for Mbappe, and was seen in the city of Manchester on Monday according to Cadena SER.

It is stated that they met with several City officials, adn the person was even seen by some City players.

Interestingly, it is added that another representative – a childhood friend of Mbappe – went to watch Real Madrid’s Champions League game with RB Leipzig, and was in the VIP area.

Chances of signing Manchester City signing Kylian Mbappe are slim to none

This feels like pure paper talk because City are not in a position when they need Mbappe.

The player – signed for £166 million by PSG – may be available on a free, but City have Erling Haaland and there is surely no way that Mbappe is going to want to come to the Etihad to play with the Norwegian, who is arguably his biggest direct rival for the Ballon d’Or. Despite previous claims the City owners wanted the Frenchman to come and play alongside Haaland.

It makes complete sense for Mbappe – described by his old teammate Bernardo Silva as ‘special’ – to go to Real Madrid, as has been on the cards for what seems like years – although they’ve done really well without him, the Spanish giants still need a replacement for Karim Benzema.

The only way City could be in any hunt for Mbappe is if Haaland was sold and that does not seem at all likely.
