Guardiola to make 6 changes, 'intelligent' ace to start: Man City predicted line-up vs Brentford

As Manchester City prepare to face Brentford on Sunday, we have tried our best to call their predicted lineup for the clash.

With the Premier League sewn up and bigger tests in store in the FA Cup and the Champions League final, Pep Guardiola could make as many as six changes from the side that featured against Brighton.

For starters, Ederson is expected to replace Stefan Ortega in our Manchester City predicted lineup against Brentford.

At right-back, Kyle Walker could be given a rest, with Rico Lewis moving from left-back to his usual position against the Bees.

Rodri could keep his place as the centre-back once again in our Manchester City predicted lineup against Brentford.

Considering Pep Guardiola told the press via Manchester Evening News that neither of Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji or Aymeric Laporte were fit to feature against Brighton, he may stick with the Spaniard.

While Rodri did confirm that John Stones’ injury was not a matter of concern, one expects Pep Guardiola not to take any chances and allow Ruben Dias to take his place.

Considering Dias himself tweeted pictures of himself coming into training after not making the cut in the matchday squad to face Brighton, he could be in contention to start.

At left-back, Sergio Gomez, who came on as a substitute against the Seagulls could start proceedings in our Manchester City predicted lineup against Brentford.

In defensive midfield, Kalvin Phillips, once branded as ‘intelligent’ by Pep Guardiola could come into the side, with Kevin De Bruyne getting a rest.

In front of the Englishman, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan could both feature.

Riyad Mahrez is another name likely to retain his place in the side, as he is not expected to start in either of the finals.

Up front, Erling Haaland could also be handed a breather, with Julian Alvarez taking his place in our Manchester City predicted lineup.

While Phil Foden was in terrific touch against Brighton, which would justify his inclusion, Pep Guardiola did admit that he took him off in the last game as he was worried his knock could have been ‘dangerous’, as per the club’s official website.

If Jack Grealish returns to fitness, he could take his place, also due to the fact that gaining some rhythm before the matches against Manchester United and Inter Milan will be key for him.
