With Manchester City set to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, we have predicted their potential lineup ahead of the much-awaited contest.

Despite having pulled off an awe-inspiring comeback against RB Leipzig in their previous outing, we still expect Pep Guardiola to make four changes to his XI for his side’s upcoming clash.

After Stefan Ortega started against Marco Rose’s side in the Champions League, Ederson seems dead set to return to the fold, according to our Manchester City predicted lineup to face Tottenham.

Kyle Walker also seems virtually guaranteed to start in such big games, as he is expected to keep his place for the showdown against Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Manuel Akanji has become a mainstay this season, especially playing in John Stones’ trademark hybrid role during his absence and as a result, one cannot see him being benched.

While Pep Guardiola did admit that the latter will be available to face Spurs (via Manchester Evening News journalist Simon Bajkowski), it may be risky to start him straightaway in such a high-octane affair after returning from injury.

Despite having had a game to forget against RB Leipzig, Ruben Dias still seems likely to start, as per our Manchester City predicted lineup to feature against Tottenham.

At left-back, Pep Guardiola could opt for Nathan Ake over Josko Gvardiol, especially after how he rose to the occassion against Liverpool last Saturday.

Rodri was uncharacteristically poor against RB Leipzig but it would be a surprise to see a player of his importance dropped for a clash against one of the Premier League’s dangerous attacking sides.

Alongside the Spaniard is likely to be Bernardo Silva, who played on the right wing against RB Leipzig.

The Portuguese international has been in sublime touch this campaign, with Conor Coady recently claiming that he may be the best player in the Premier League.

While Rico Lewis was typically brilliant against Leipzig as well, after Julian Alvarez’s matchwinning cameo, it would be fair to assume that the latter will take the former’s place in the side.

After starring against the German side, Phil Foden could well be the first name on the team sheet, as per our Manchester City predicted lineup against Tottenham.

But, the 23-year-old may have to return to playing on the right flank, with Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez looking like they could as the Sky Blues’ advanced midfield pair.

Much like the latter, Jeremy Doku also turned the game on its head after his electric cameo in the Champions League, which could lead to him displacing Jack Grealish on the left flank in the XI.

The £55.5 million (Sky Sports) man can seemingly do no wrong at the moment, with Pep Guardiola also hailing him as an “exceptional winger” earlier this season.

With Erling Haaland having scored against every ‘Big Six’ team in the league he has come up against so far this campaign, he would be hoping to do the same against the North London outfit.
