Manchester City have a busy summer ahead of them as they look to right the wrongs of this season.

Admittedly, the rebuild has already restarted, with Manchester City signing a host of exciting young players earlier this year.

Sam Lee recently said City are looking to make a further “four or five signings” this summer, with their back line a likely priority.

Now, a player said to be on the City radar has just helped his team reach the Champions League final.

Paris Saint-Germain will be up against Inter Milan in the final after beating Arsenal and Barcelona in their respective semi-finals.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is reportedly wanted by City, delivered another masterclass in Wednesday’s crucial second-leg win over Arsenal.

The Italy international made two superb saves from Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard early on as the Gunners sought to find an early goal.

PSG weathered the storm before scoring in the 27th minute and adding a second in the 72nd minute to establish an insurmountable lead against Arsenal.

Eurosport described Donnarumma as ‘the man of this semi-final’ and said the Parc des Princes ‘owes him a statue’.

Meanwhile, Le Figaro said he was ‘reassuring, dominant and energetic’, and deemed his display ‘a true work of art’.

What has Pep Guardiola said about Gianluigi Donnarumma?

Guardiola likes Donnarumma, having praised the PSG keeper as far back as 2017 when the goalkeeper was just 18 years of age.

“Donnarumma is a top, top goalkeeper, definitely,” he said. “He’s big. He has huge skill for 18 years old.

“It would depend on him and his teammates whether he played well (in the Premier League) or not but good players can play anywhere.”

PSG are apparently yet to offer Donnarumma a new contract, with his current terms expiring in June 2026 – the same as Ederson.

As a result, there could be some movement among some of the best goalkeepers in the world over the coming weeks.

However, City aren’t alone – the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus apparently want to bring Donnarumma back to Italy.
