Thierry Henry once lavished praise on to Josko Gvardiol, who has been linked with a transfer to Manchester City.
As relayed by Football.London, the now-renowned pundit gave his two cents on the 21-year-old after his display in the Champions League against Real Madrid.
It’s safe to say that Thierry Henry was seriously impressed by Josko Gvardiol, who was set to have a ‘new round of talks’ with Manchester City, as per a revelation on Friday.
Thierry Henry once raved about Manchester City target Josko Gvardiol
Branded as ‘phenomenal’ by Mateo Kovacic, it seems like the plan at City is to sign the youngster as a replacement for the exit-linked Aymeric Laporte.
However, it has been widely reported that RB Leipzig refuse to sell the Croatian centre-back, unless a suitor offers to pay no less than £85.7 million for his services.
It seems like Manchester City could well explore such a deal for Josko Gvardiol, who once left Thierry Henry awestruck.

“It’s a rare breed to have a centre-back with a left foot. Everybody looks for that. If you want to play, then you get a better outlet if the guy is left-footed to direct both ways.”
Thierry Henry went on to describe why he likes what he sees in Manchester City-linked defender Josko Gvardiol, saying, “What I like is, and you have to give credit to Croatia and Dinamo Zagreb. They produce players at will. He’s strong. An eye for a pass. Chelsea wants him and I can name a lot of teams.”
“He’s good at defending and he’s good in the air on set-pieces, but more importantly, if you are a left-footed centre-back, then suddenly people come for you.”
Thierry Henry, much like Manchester City can seemingly see that the former Dinamo Zagreb colossus is a top centre-half in the making and what is equally important is that his profile stands out from the rest.
