Manuel Estiarte, who is a part of the Manchester City technical staff has revealed that Pep Guardiola dreams of managing in Italy next.
A couple of months ago, the Catalan tactician extended his contract at the Etihad Stadium till 2025, while admitting that he could not be at a better club.
However, Manuel Estiarte, who is known to be a friend of Pep Guardiola’s has said that he is intrigued by the prospect of taking up a managerial job in Italy after his spell at Manchester City comes to an end.
Manuel Estiarte says Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola dreams of coaching in Italy
On Friday, the Spaniard stole the headlines by predicting that Vincent Kompany will manage the Sky Blues in the future.
Now, Manuel Estiarte has told Radio Bruno, as relayed by Football Italia that Pep Guardiola dreams of managing in Italy after his time at Manchester City comes to an end.
“We keep a close eye on Italian football. Pep adores Italy and Italian culture, we talk about it often. It’s his dream to work in Italy, but as things stand today, there are problems. The culture is completely different in England, they allow you to focus on work during the week.”
“In Italy and Spain, the papers have to write something every day and this takes away some of the focus on the work.”
It makes complete sense
Well, for starters, Guardiola played for Roma and Brescia as a player and is known to be speak Italian, which could well be one reason why he aims to return to Italy. Furthermore, the 52-year-old has dominated Spain, Germany and England, which leaves only one major league for him to reign over.
However, it is unlikely that Pep Guardiola will depart Manchester City for a move to Italy, even though the revelation from Manuel Estiarte certainly adds up.
