The Premier League has seen some incredible teams throughout the years.
From Sir Alex Ferguson’s treble winners all the way to Pep Guardiola’s Man City team who became the first to win four titles in a row, the debate over which side was the greatest in English top-flight history will always rage on.
For many people, Arsenal’s team from the 2003/04 season is their preference, as Arsene Wenger’s Gunners went the entire campaign unbeaten, which has yet to be seen again.
Having been part of this team, former Arsenal star Martin Keown has been speaking about The Invincibles lately, and naming one team he reckons could have defeated the unbeatable.

Would Man City’s Centurions have beaten Arsenal’s Invincibles
When it comes to the great teams to have played in England, Alan Shearer believes Man City’s treble winners were better than Man United’s, but could either team have overcome the challenge of Arsenal’s Invincibles?
Playing a game of Stay Until Quiet, Keown was asked to speak if a team that could defeat Arsenal’s Invincibles was mentioned and although none were brought up, the pundit named one he believes could have secured a win.
“If anything, the 2002 Arsenal team was the best team that I played in, but it’s a consummate 11 of that group (2004 Arsenal team),” Keown told the Daily Mail. “It morphs into one group because Vieira was there right the way through, so was Henry in that period. Those guys were immense.”
This will have done nothing to settle the debate amongst football fans as many will still argue that reaching 100 points is harder than going a full season undefeated, as Arsenal won the league with 90 points.

How Man City’s Centurions compare to Arsenal’s Invincibles
When looking at both Man City’s Centurions and Arsenal’s Invincibles, both teams were littered with Premier League greats and it is not hard to see why both sides were super successful.
City won the league with exactly 100 points in 2018, 19 points ahead of second-placed Man United. As for the Gunners, 90 points was enough to win the league in 2004, which was 11 points clear of Chelsea in second place.
| Team | Points | Wins | Draws | Defeats | Goals for | Goals against |
| Man City 17/18 | 100 | 32 | 4 | 2 | 106 | 27 |
| Arsenal 03/04 | 90 | 26 | 12 | 0 | 72 | 26 |
Kevin De Bruyne is set to leave Man City this summer, however, the Belgian was key to the Centurions’ success and was arguably the best player amongst the 17/18 City squad.
Recently, Thierry Henry admitted that he was sad that De Bruyne is leaving City this summer and when it comes to Arsenal’s Invincibles, the French star was the best within Wenger’s group.
Both teams were incredible and they’re will always be very little separating them in people’s opinions. Keown has not done much to end the debate, but it is clear how highly he rates the 2003/04 Arsenal team he was part of.
