Manchester City have many players in consideration when picking a Premier League all-time XI.

The Etihad faithful have witnessed some incredible talent come through their club over the last 15 years, from Ederson in goal, all the way up to former star striker Sergio Aguero.

Kevin De Bruyne is considered Man City’s greatest ever player, with the Belgian himself thinking that honour belongs to David Silva.

This midfield duo are normally included in people’s all-time Premier League teams; however, former West Ham star Michail Antonio has picked another Man City hero over the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

Michail Antonio includes Yaya Toure in his ultimate Premier League XI

Yaya Toure enjoyed an incredible spell at Man City, where the Ivorian spent eight years between 2010 and 2018. The midfielder racked up 316 appearances for the Manchester club during that time, producing 80 goals and assisting a further 45.

Patrick Vieira recently revealed just how much of an impact Toure had at Man City, as the Ivory Coast star was unplayable when at his best. This may be the reason Antonio included the 39-year-old in his ultimate Premier League XI when asked by the Daily Mail’s TikTok account, pairing him with De Bruyne in midfield.

Many would pick the likes of Gerrard or Lampard over Toure, but Carlos Baleba is another player who thinks the former Man City star was better than the Chelsea legend.

Toure will go down as a Man City legend, but it is a surprise to see the Ivorian in a team such as this, given everything Gerrard and Lampard achieved in England’s top flight.

How Yaya Toure compares to Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard

Unlike Toure and Lampard, Gerrard never played with the best team in England while at Liverpool, which makes the former Reds star’s achievements more impressive, having won every major club trophy possible apart from the Premier League.

Toure was more similar to the Liverpool legend than Lampard, as both were very physical players who operated box-to-box.

Lampard was different, as the Chelsea legend was more technical than the midfield duo, and is arguably the greatest goalscoring midfielder the Premier League has ever seen. The Englishman put up some incredible numbers at Stamford Bridge, on the way to winning every trophy club football had to offer.

All three were exceptional midfielders during their careers, but Antonio is one of the rare people who would pick the former Man City star over the English duo.
