During his time at Manchester City, Morgan Rogers had the chance to play alongside several top players.

Some of them include the likes of James McAtee, Cole Palmer and Liam Delap to name a few.

At the Etihad Campus, the now-Aston Villa attacker would have witnessed elite players such as David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Fernandinho train as well — which would have opened the midfielder’s eyes to the standard he must reach to play at the highest level.

Despite being sold by City in 2023, Morgan Rogers would have considered his four-year spell as a youngster for the Sky Blues one that helped him become the player he is today.

Morgan Rogers says Kevin De Bruyne is better than Thierry Henry

The likes of David Silva and De Bruyne, who Chris Wood lauded as the greatest player in Premier League history would have inspired Rogers in particular, considering he is a number 10 himself.

With Micah Richards describing Villa’s Rogers as a “diamond”, he has developed into one of the most exciting players in English football after studying greats of the game at City.

Speaking to GOAL, Rogers was quizzed who he considers the better player out of Thierry Henry and De Bruyne.

The 23-year-old replied: “KDB.”

Kevin De Bruyne stats compared to Thierry Henry in the Premier League

Thierry Henry is a huge admirer of De Bruyne, having worked with him when he was Belgium’s assistant coach and as a result, he may not mind Rogers’ answer too much.

Both players have stats to be proud of after spending a chunk of their career in the Premier League.

Being a striker, Henry unsurprisingly registered more goal involvements (249) than De Bruyne’s tally of 191.

However, Rogers’ decision to pick the the six-time Premier League winner over the Frenchman shows how much of an icon the Manchester City legend is to the current generation of footballers.
