It has been reported that Julian Alvarez has no intention to leave Manchester City to go out on loan next season.

This comes from Fabrizio Romano, after it was claimed on Tuesday that Bayern Munich were aiming to engineer a temporary move for the £14 million (BBC Sport) man in the event that they are unable to sign Harry Kane.

However, it has been emphasised by Julian Alvarez and his camp that their plan is to stay put at Manchester City and avoid any loan move.

Fabrizio Romano: Manchester City goalscorer Julian Alvarez is not set for loan transfer

Branded as ‘amazing’ by Khaldoon Al-Mubarak, the World Cup winner enjoyed a sparkling debut season at the Etihad Stadium, winning a historic treble.

To add to that, the Argentine striker instantly became a crucial member of the squad, as he made a brilliant impression by registering as many as 17 goals and five assists in all competitions.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there is ‘no chance’ that Julian Alvarez even considers any loan deal away from Manchester City in the following campaign.

It’s safe to say that this revelation comes as no surprise whatsoever.

Julian Alvarez could be set for a bigger role next season

During his debut season at Manchester City, Julian Alvarez instantly looked the part, which is why one questions why either the player or the club would even pay any mind to a potential loan offer.

With Kevin De Bruyne set to miss the entirety of pre-season and the initial few games of the 2023/2024 campaign through injury, the former River Plate forward could well be utilised as one of the two advanced midfielders behind Erling Haaland.

While the 23-year-old is far from flawless in this role, there have been games where he has been outstanding when played deeper, especially when alongside the Norwegian.

Perhaps Alvarez has a chance to solidify his place in City’s starting XI and to sacrifice that to head out on loan would have been a bizarre decision from him.
