Pep Guardiola is now in the middle of his ninth season in charge of Manchester City.
Having arrived at the Etihad Stadium back in 2016, Guardiola has spent longer in charge of City than he had in charge of Barcelona and Bayern Munich combined.
With 489 matches overlooked as City’s manager across all competitions, the Catalan has seen his side win 360, draw 60 and lose 69, lifting multiple trophies along the way.
As things stand, this current season at the Manchester club could be his last as his contract is set to expire in June.
Even though Guardiola discussed his future during the October international break and said he hadn’t yet made a decision on his next step, the topic of his City legacy has recently cropped up.

Noel Gallagher shares Pep Guardiola’s ‘biggest legacy’ at Man City
As part of TNT Sports’ commentary team for the recent Sporting CP match, Noel Gallagher was asked what he feels Guardiola’s biggest legacy will be when he eventually leaves City.
In response, the lifelong City fan and Oasis member said this on the matter.
He said: “I actually think his biggest legacy will be Phil Foden. Because when the entire country was calling for Phil to go out on loan, to go down to the Championship and play, he said no he’s going to stay with me and he’s going to watch David Silva every day.
“And look at the kid now.”
Foden has been one of Guardiola’s biggest achievements at City
A few months into his second season in charge of City, Guardiola gave Foden his senior debut during a 1-0 win over Feyenoord in the Champions League.
Since then, the 24-year-old has gone on to make 283 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, scoring 90 goals and supplying 55 assists in the process.
Last season saw Foden be named the Premier League Player of the Season after he bagged 19 goals and delivered eight assists in 35 matches.
More recently, John Stones praised Foden for how he emerged through City’s academy and settled in as part of the first-team squad, saying that his confidence “shone through on the training pitch” ahead of the 2017/18 season.
As a prime example of how a player can work through his boyhood club’s youth ranks and become a crucial first-team figure, Foden has shown that he has benefitted massively from being around Guardiola rather than having been loaned out as the club have done with other academy players previously.
