Manchester City supporters worldwide would be hoping to discover Pep Guardiola’s plans beyond the ongoing 2024/2025 season.
Pep Guardiola’s contract expires in 2025 — which means that in theory, he could depart the club at the end of the season alongside Txiki Begiristain.
It was revealed last week that Guardiola’s Manchester City future is not linked to Begiristain’s exit — stating that he was aware of his colleague’s plans to leave Manchester City for a long time.
On Thursday, it was reported that Manchester City expect Guardiola to extend his contract for at least one more season.
It was claimed on Friday that Manchester City want Guardiola to decide his future before the new year.
Pep Guardiola’s future is one of the most intriguing questions surrounding not just City but the Premier League as a whole.

What Pep Guardiola said about his future at Man City
The former Bayern Munich boss is in his ninth season at the Etihad Stadium as he continues to cement his legacy as arguably the most influential manager to have ever graced English shores.
The two-time treble-winner has won four Premier League titles in a row and it seems like until he remains in East Manchester, it will take a herculean effort for any other manager to end City’s dominance.
As Guardiola was quizzed about his future at Manchester City and the prospect of becoming the next England manager on Italian television show Che Tempo Che Fa, he replied: “It’s not true [becoming the next England boss], I can promise you that had I made a decision on whether to stay or to leave [Manchester City], I would tell you.”
“I don’t even know. But anything can happen in life.”
In July, it was claimed that the FA’s plan to appoint Guardiola as England manager was to wait until 2025 for him to leave Manchester City before handing him the job.
It was reported soon after that Pep Guardiola’s chances of managing the Three Lions were considered unlikely, with his annual salary of £20 million being one that the FA would be struggle to pay.
In 2017, Guardiola addressed the prospect of becoming England’s future manager by rejecting the job as he feels a native coach should always take over the country’s managerial job.
Last week, Wayne Rooney doubted Guardiola will manage England as he felt the FA would avoid appointing a “big-name” manager like him in the first place.
What Guardiola said about Man City future after Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool exit is interesting
After Jurgen Klopp announced his shock decision to leave Liverpool, Pep Guardiola discussed his future at Manchester City in January.
Guardiola and Klopp were the Premier League’s longest-serving managers at the time and with the German having decided to part ways with Liverpool, the former’s view on his future was brought up.
Pep Guardiola said: “I’m fine. I still want to do it for one more year and maybe extend [my contract beyond 2025].”
Whether the decorated coach holds the same stance as in January remains interesting.
The Spaniard’s admission indicated that his hunger to compete at the elite level remains sky-high, despite inching towards a decade of managing in England.
But Pep Guardiola opened the door to potentially signing a contract extension at Manchester City; which could mean that he has privately decided his future at the club.
Only time will tell whether Guardiola prolongs his love affair with City but his statement after Klopp’s announcement to leave Liverpool could indicate his future plans.
