It seems like Manchester Cityโ€™s interest in signing Morgan Gibbs-White is as serious as can be.

Manchester Cityโ€™s move to sign Gibbs-White is in progress as they well and truly hope to snag the Nottingham Forest midfielderโ€™s signature.

Even Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester City โ€œplan to advanceโ€ in a deal to sign the Englishman in a few weeks โ€” with personal terms not expected to be an issue.

However, Forest would still like to keep hold of the 24-year-old.

But Nottingham Forest fans have given Manchester City their thoughts on what to expect from Morgan Gibbs-White as well as their views on a potential summer exit.

Nottingham Forest fans on potential Morgan Gibbs-White to Man City move

One Nottingham Forest fan revealed that while Gibbs-White has been slated for โ€œgoing missing in gamesโ€, that is down to Nuno Espirito Santoโ€™s system โ€” unlike Manchester City: โ€œThis [move] probably happens. Seeing lots of โ€˜goes missing in gamesโ€™ tweets, hardly surprising when we have 30% possession in games. You could stick [Lionel] Messi in our side and heโ€™ll go missing in games because we donโ€™t have the ball. Guy has talent, probably frustrates him playing our system.โ€

A second Nottingham Forest fan also lauded Gibbs-White, which is a positive for Manchester City as he wrote: โ€œCity putting pressure on a deal where we hold the cards. Regardless of what happens, Gibbs-White has been incredible for us. This season will be a big part of his career legacy, especially if we get European football. PS- If we do the miracle and get Champions League, donโ€™t think he goes.โ€

Manchester City eye Gibbs-White to replace De Bruyne and one Forest supporter felt that would be a laughable decision: โ€œIโ€™m cool with this for the right money. Talented player but goes missing in the big games. If this is a replacement for KDB, City fans are in for a big shock.โ€

Another fan claimed that if City pay around 90 million to sign the Englishman, the deal would be a no-brainer: โ€œOne of the best players Iโ€™ve ever seen in a Forest kit. If he goes it will hurt, a lot. But Iโ€™m sure he wonโ€™t go for anything below at least ยฃ90 million and for that money, itโ€™s a no-brainer for the football club.โ€

A fifth Forest fan also gave Gibbs-White, whose potential signing Manchester City fans questioned the ultimate compliment stressing how difficult it will be to replace him: โ€œHad some numpties on here slating him last game, Iโ€™d be absolutely gutted to lose him, would be extremely difficult to find a quality replacement.โ€

A sixth Nottingham Forest wished Gibbs-White well and gave him a blessing if Manchester City indeed wish to sign him: โ€œAll about how we finish for me. If we get CL [Champions League] then he will probably stay but if City come calling then I wouldnโ€™t want to hold any player back. He deserves our backing, for now we need 4 world class performances from him.โ€

The overwhelming sentiment seems to be just how valued the former Wolves attacker is at The City Ground.

Does Hugo Viana want to sign Morgan Gibbs-White?

Hugo Viana has admired Gibbs-White for years, which is possibly why Manchester City would like to snap him up from Nottingham Forest in what would be a divisive move amongst the Sky Blues fans.

City supportersโ€™ skepticism might stem from the fact that the signings of Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips, and Matheus Nunes from Premier League clubs have been extremely disappointing.

However, Manchester Cityโ€™s reasons for targeting Gibbs-White are due to his athleticism, him being an alternative to their dream target in Florian Wirtz and central midfield being a key area of their squad rejig.

But Gibbs-White has spent a majority of his spell as a Forest player in an attacking midfield position.

Whether Pep Guardiola believes the England international could run the show from them in the double pivot will be an interesting finding if he makes his way to the Etihad Stadium.
