Journalist Dean Jones has given an insight into the prospect of Manchester City trying to sign Joshua Kimmich this summer.
As Kimmich’s contract with Bayern Munich expires in the summer of 2025, he feels an effort to sign him could be on the agenda for City during the Ranks FC podcast.
It was reported by journalist Christian Falk in December that there is a possibility that the 28-year-old could bid adieu to the Bundesliga side after the season ends.
Journalist reveals what he knows about Joshua Kimmich and his potential move to Manchester City
A little over two weeks ago, Fabrizio Romano claimed that the versatile technician intends to stay at the Allianz Arena in January, with the prospect of his exit in the winter window completely ruled out by the Italian journalist.
However, it was claimed earlier this month that the Sky Blues had their sights set on signing the Champions League winner in the summer, who could be available for a fee of just £25 million.
Now, Dean Jones has claimed that in his eyes, there are signs to suggest that Manchester City are stirring up the possibility of bringing Joshua Kimmich to the Etihad Stadium in the summer.

“[Joshua] Kimmich to Man City this summer? A really interesting rumour, this because it won’t go away and it’s not being played down to me from the Man City end and when that happens, I’m always tempted to believe something is happening in the background.”
“I’ll keep an open mind to this transfer but it won’t be easy, the finances, the decision to cut ties from a Bayern perspective, but it is one to look out for”, he said on the Ranks FC podcast.
Adding Joshua Kimmich to the mix would be brilliant for the side’s experience
It goes without saying that considering Joshua Kimmich is not only world-class but extremely versatile, he would be a first-class signing for Manchester City but it is also key to consider how much he would add to the side from an experiential standpoint.
Kimmich is a serial winner, having won eight Bundesliga titles, one Champions League trophy and three DFL-Pokal titles amongst several other pieces of silverware.
With the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte having departed the Etihad Stadium this summer, Joshua Kimmich’s potential addition would boost the side from a leadership perspective, which is crucial for any team in their quest for glory.
