Paris Saint-Germain are not shy when it comes to signing players for significant sums of money.
Over the past few years, the French club have shelled out big fees to bring in the likes of Goncalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembele and Randal Kolo Muani among others.
Despite that, they still haven’t been able to win a Champions League trophy, unlike Pep Guardiola’s side who won it in addition to the Premier League and FA Cup in the 2022/23 season.
In the final few weeks of the latest summer transfer window, the French club have now made a move to bring one of City’s Champions League winners to Paris.

Paris Saint-Germain make contract offer to sign Julian Alvarez from Man City
In a recent post on his X account, journalist Santi Aouna had this to say on the matter.
He said: “PSG has made a contract offer to Julian Alvarez, the Manchester City striker. Paris has started discussions with Manchester City to find out the feasibility of the file. Man City asking for around 70/80M €. Profile validated by Luis Enrique.”
City could make a big profit on Alvarez
PSG aren’t the only club to be linked with a move for the City man, who Guardiola called “incredible” (via Man City) back in September, as Atletico Madrid are also looking at him.
Since Alvarez arrived at the Etihad Stadium back in the summer of 2022, he has gone on to make 103 appearances for the Blues in all competitions, scoring 36 goals and supplying 18 assists along the way.
Having only paid £14m to sign the striker from River Plate, the Citizens could make a significant profit on Alvarez if they were to sell him to PSG for the fee that Aouna has claimed City want for him.
However, with the 24-year-old scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists in 54 games last season, it’s undeniable that the Manchester club would be losing an important attacking figure from their squad.
