Pep Guardiola has been credited with improving several players he has worked with at Man City and other clubs.

The Man City boss is considered the greatest manager of all time by Brentford boss Thomas Frank, an opinion often shared by many of his peers.

Guardiola has achieved incredible success wherever he has been and his current spell at Man City has seen the Spanish coach deliver every trophy possible to the fans of the Manchester club. Money has played a part in this success, however, the majority has been down to the 54-year-old’s coaching.

Many players have seen their games taken to a new level by the Man City boss and former Tottenham star Sandro believes one player in particular benefited a lot from working alongside Guardiola for many years.

Sandro credits Pep Guardiola with improving Kyle Walker

Sandro spent four years at Tottenham between 2010 and 2014 and during his time in North London, the Brazilian worked alongside a young Kyle Walker.

When asked on Stadium Astro’s League of Legends who was quicker between Walker and Aaron Lennon, Sandro went with the winger before claiming that the right-back made huge improvements once he made the move to Man City.

“In my time at Tottenham, I would say (Aaron) Lennon, but of course, after Kyle Walker improved his speed and the way he plays. He became the best right-back in the world for me,” Sandro stated.

“But I would say that Guardiola helped him a lot as well, to understand, to play, when to go, when to stay. That is what Guardiola can do.”

Antonio Conte really wanted to sign Walker for Chelsea in the summer of 2017, which shows how highly rated the Englishman was at the time, but the full-back made the right decision to work under Guardiola.

Walker’s time at Man City is coming to an end and his exit this summer will close the curtain on an incredible career at the Etihad Stadium.

Is Kyle Walker the best right-back in the world

Just like Guardiola, Walker’s peers hold him in high regard, with Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina recently naming the Man City star as the best right-back to play in the Premier League.

The 34-year-old’s time in Manchester has been legendary as the defender has racked up 319 appearances, scoring six goals, alongside 23 assists, while accumulating a trophy haul of six Premier League titles, a Champions League, two FA Cups and four EFL Cups.

Walker was considered the best right-back in the world for many years, however, the title has now been taken away from the England star.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Achraf Hakimi and Jules Kounde are all ahead of the Man City legend at present, but that was always bound to happen as Walker got older.
