Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has tipped Phil Foden to go down as a legend of the game after his side beat Manchester United.
After City’s 3-1 victory against United on Sunday, the Catalan tactician also claimed that the 23-year-old has been the best player in the Premier League this season.
It’s fair to claim that Guardiola could not be any happier than he currently is with Foden’s impact on his side.
Pep Guardiola says Phil Foden will go down as a “legendary player” after Manchester City defeat Manchester United
Ahead of the Manchester Derby, John Stones confidently claimed that the £225,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man is “world-class.”
The 29-year-old also admitted that he is unsure whether Kevin De Bruyne or his countryman is the best player in the league currently.
As Manchester City matchwinner Phil Foden continued to make headlines by rising to the occasion against Manchester United with two special strikes, Pep Guardiola made an interesting prediction about his career.

“He will already be a legendary player because in a short age, the games played, the minutes, the goals scored, the titles won and he is from the home and that is why the connection with the fans is unbelievable”, the City tactician told Sky Sports after the clash.
Phil Foden could have a truly special career
Performances like the one on Sunday from Phil Foden against Manchester United emphasise why Pep Guardiola may have a point about the Manchester City attacker.
In terms of his potential and the displays he has already put in for City, Foden has it in his locker to go down as an all-time great, right alongside some of the players he has played with at club level like Aguero, Kompany and Toure to name a few.
To add to that, as Guardiola pinpointed, the silverware Foden has won will also have a big say on his legacy if he carries on his magnificence as silverware is the one and only currency in football.
As a result, there is no reason to doubt Phil Foden and the career he could have as he has proven time and time again that there are not many more talented players than him in his generation.
