John Stones has heaped praise on Kevin De Bruyne while emphasising that his phenomenal vision sets him apart from the rest.
After the Belgian captain registered four assists in Manchester City’s 6-2 mauling of Luton Town in the FA Cup, Alan Shearer claimed that forwards in his team do not even have to look when he is playing a pass.
Instead, one simply has to be on the move due to how De Bruyne seems guaranteed to play the perfect pass to them.
John Stones says Kevin De Bruyne “sees things no one else does”
When playing the “word association” game while speaking to Sky Sports, John Stones was asked about Kevin De Bruyne.

“King for Kevin [De Bruyne]”, he replied.
John Stones was also quizzed about whether Kevin De Bruyne is the best player in the Premier League currently.
“I think he’s been up there for years, to be fair. It’s hard for me to pick between them, Phil [Foden], the way he’s playing right now, Kevin. Kev’s quality is there to be seen, I think we missed that in the parts of the season where he was injured.”
“Yeah, it’s good to have him back and see him playing and enjoying himself, getting assists, scoring.”
John Stones went on to highlight the standout attribute that Kevin De Bruyne possesses.
“He just sees things no one else does. That’s his gift in the game and I hope he keeps doing it.”
Interestingly, Amadou Onana also sang his countryman’s praises by claiming that the midfield maestro sees things that “normal people” like him just do not on a football pitch.
Kevin De Bruyne shares this trait with all the attacking midfield greats
As John Stones claimed, the one-of-a-kind way in which Kevin De Bruyne perceives the game is one of the many reasons why he is an outstanding player.
The five-time Premier League winner shares this attribute with several midfield greats from the past, especially those who played in a more attacking role during their careers.
The likes of Kaka, Zinedine Zidane, Xavi Hernandez and Mesut Ozil are also renowned for having a unique vision, which allowed them to play defence-splitting passes for fun.
If Kevin De Bruyne can put this attribute to good use in the Manchester Derby on Sunday, Manchester City would look nailed-on to do the double over Manchester United.
