Manchester City are back on the road again for their latest Premier League fixture.

Following the October international break, City will be taking on Wolves at Molineux on Sunday afternoon.

Their previous match saw Pep Guardiola’s side pick up a 3-2 victory over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.

As is usually the case, the Manchester club saw numerous figures from their squad in action for their countries throughout the latest international break.

In his recent press conference, Guardiola said that while Kevin De Bruyne and Nathan Ake have started doing some training, neither are likely to feature in the Wolves game.

With City aiming to do what they couldn’t last season and pick up a win at Molineux, let’s take a look at what the starting XI could look like for the away side on this occasion.

Man City predicted XI vs Wolves

With Ederson in action for Brazil over the break and arriving later than the rest of his club teammates, Guardiola could give Stefan Ortega his first Premier League start this season and allow Ederson to have an extra rest.

Having played a prominent role in the team so far this season, Rico Lewis is likely to keep his place in the team at the expense of club captain Kyle Walker.

Manuel Akanji reportedly came back from his international duties with an unspecified fitness issue according to the Manchester Evening News. This therefore could see John Stones step back into the team and potentially see the £250k-a-week defender secure a regular spot in the starting XI.

Next to Stones, it seems likely that Guardiola will stick with the ever-present Ruben Dias to try and help City get what would be just their second league clean sheet of the season.

At left-back, with Ake still not fit to make a return just yet, Josko Gvardiol will likely be in the starting XI once again.

Moving into midfield, having scored two of City’s three goals against Fulham and not feature in either of Croatia’s two recent international games, Mateo Kovacic is likely to be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Next to him, with Rodri out injured for the rest of the season and international duty now a thing of the past, Ilkay Gundogan is another safe option for this predicted XI.

Also earning a midfield place in the team to take on the Old Gold is likely to be Bernardo Silva, who has started all but one of City’s league games this season.

On the left, having scored in England’s 3-1 win over Finland, this match against Wolves would be another ideal opportunity for Jack Grealish to show how vital he can be for City and hopefully bag his first league goal of the season.

For the right-wing position, with Savinho in the same boat as Ederson in terms of being in fairly recent action for Brazil, this may see Guardiola give the nod to Jeremy Doku.
