Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola worked really hard with Jack Grealish after signing him from Aston Villa.
That is according to The Independent, which has claimed how Guardiola tried to change Grealish after bringing him to City.
So, what has been reported about Manchester City, Pep Guardiola and Jack Grealish?
Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, according to The Independent, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola tried his very best to change the way Jack Grealish plays his football.
Grealish, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, joined City from Villa in the summer of 2021 for £100 million.
The England international struggled in his first season at City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last campaign.

According to The Independent, when Grealish joined City, “Guardiola worked on him for weeks, seeking to change his thinking on the game and add much more control to it.”
The £300,000-a-week (Spotrac) star took a while to get grips with Guardiola’s system, but, as the report has noted, Jeremy Doku has hit the ground running at the defending Premier League champions.
Jeremy Doku a real threat to Jack Grealish at Manchester City
In my opinion, Jack Grealish could really struggle to get back into the Manchester City starting lineup because of the form of Jeremy Doku.
Doku is very quick and is brilliant with the ball at his feet.
The Belgium international winger is very good at running at opposition defenders and getting past them.
And, he is just 21.
I believe that Grealish will have to work extremely hard to get back into the team.
City manager Pep Guardiola is playing Doku ahead of Grealish at left wing now.
If Doku continues to play well and maintains consistency in his game, then Grealish could end up becoming a squad player.
