It has been reported that Josko Gvardiol is hoping that talks between Manchester City and RB Leipzig over his potential transfer are concluded before the start of next season.

This comes from the Daily Mail journalist Jack Gaughan, as the deal for the 21-year-old to join City is yet to be concluded.

But Josko Gvardiol himself at least aspires for Manchester City and RB Leipzig to strike a deal before the following campaign begins.

Josko Gvardiol wants talks between Manchester City & RB Leipzig concluded before season starts

It was claimed on last Monday that Pep Guardiola himself was furious about the potential move not being completed, especially considering that the club’s pre-season tour has also come to a close now.

Branded as ‘phenomenal’ by Mateo Kovacic, the highly-rated centre-back is set to be a likely replacement for Aymeric Laporte, whose five-year spell at the Etihad Stadium looks like it may come to an end.

Valued at £86 million, a deal for Josko Gvardiol is currently being negotiated between Manchester City and RB Leipzig.

However, the youngster himself is keen on the talks ending on a successful note before the 2023/2024 season kicks off.

Understandable why Josko Gvardiol is getting impatient

RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, in some ways has the same mindset as every Manchester City fan regarding this reported transfer.

While the move makes utmost sense, it has been frustrating not to see him train and play with his potential future teammates in pre-season.

With Pep Guardiola’s system being famously difficult to adapt to, one hopes that the player is given as much time as possible to work closely with him in order to look the part from day one.

However, as has been the case with this move all along, it is simply taking way more time than expected, which is an irritant from both Gvardiol, City’s and even both sets of fans’ perspective.
