PSG are now in advanced talks to sign Manchester City target Lucas Beraldo from Sao Paulo.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano.

So, what is the situation involving Manchester City and Lucas Beraldo? Let’s take a look…

Manchester City could now miss out on Lucas Beraldo

Well, it was Alexsander Vieira – a journalist for Bolavip – who first revealed that Manchester City had made contact with Sao Paulo over a deal for the defender.

Vieira also mentioned that PSG asked about Beraldo, with Romano now claiming that the French giants are closing in on the 20-year-old.

The reliable Italian journalist wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain and Sao Paulo for Lucas Beraldo are progressing fast. Sao Paulo want more than €20m (£17m). Current package is €25m (£22m) add-ons included as @OGabrielSa called.

“2003 born centre-back already said yes to PSG as potential destination.”

Juventus, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid were all said to be keen on signing Beraldo as well, so Manchester City are not the only European giant about to miss out.

Lucas Beraldo is yet another Manchester City target in South America

Manchester City are a club with a plan under Sheikh Mansour.

Recruitment has been streamlined under Txiki Begiristain with each signing a measured addition, and by the looks of it, Manchester City’s future could have a heavy South American influence.

The treble winners are said to have held talks with River Plate’s Argentinian wonderkid Claudio Echeverri ahead of a possible January move.

There are also two other South American talents Manchester City want to sign from River Plate in Ian Subiabre and Agustin Ruberto – according to 90min.

Having already found Yan Couto, Savinho and Kayky in South America, the links to Beraldo further reinforce the fact Manchester City see huge value in this particular market.
