If Manchester City goalscorer Erling Haaland was available to sign, potentially every club that could afford to bring him in would queue up to secure his services.

Haaland has showcased once again this season that he is truly a once-in-a-generation striker.

As things stand, the 24-year-old still has three more years left on his contract at Manchester City.

In March, Haaland admitted he is “very happy” at City after he was quizzed about a potential move to Real Madrid in the future.

With Pep Guardiola as well as world-class players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri still in the same side as him, the Norwegian has every reason to be content at the club.

As things stand, City would also perhaps be allowing the £375,000-a-week man to solely focus on his football.

After all, the 2024/2025 season only recently began and the former Borussia Dortmund striker’s sights should be set on all things on the pitch.

But at the end of the season, the Sky Blues would perhaps be hoping there is a sense of clarity surrounding Haaland’s future.

Otherwise, the two-time Premier League winner will only have two years left on his deal at the Etihad Stadium.

Regardless of whether the Leeds-born phenomenon decides to extend his contract beyond 2027, there must be a sense of clear communication between the player and the club.

At the end of the day, both parties would be intending to avoid any misunderstandings in case of either a contract extension or a potential exit as well.

Gabby Agbonlahor claimed on talkSPORT (09/09/2024, 9:27 am) that Haaland’s agent should recommend him to sign a brand-new contract at Manchester City.

“Look at [Erling] Haaland and what he is doing now. If you are his agent, you will say, you know what, sign a new deal but we want a release clause that is realistic.”

On Saturday, it was reported that Haaland looks set to extend his contract at Manchester City, with his representive Rafaela Pimenta having undertaken several meetings with the club as well.

Erling Haaland has no reason to leave Manchester City

Haaland arguably plays for the best team in the world.

As long as Pep Guardiola stays at Manchester City, they seem set to win major trophies.

Furthermore, the prolific marksman is also playing in the most-watched league in the world.

With City being one of the most well-run clubs in the world, they will continue to be set up in a way that makes them incredibly competitive in the long run.

Considering Haaland revealed he is happy with life at Manchester City as well and seemingly improving as a player, he looks like he is at the perfect club for his professional and personal development.
