Cristiano Ronaldo recently scored his 900th goal for club and country in Portugal’s recent 2-1 win over Croatia.
Out of his 763 club goals, five of them have been against Manchester City, who he’s played against on 15 occasions.
Now though, Pep Guardiola’s side have their own prolific goalscorer in Erling Haaland, who has found the back of the net 97 times in 102 games for the Manchester club.
With both players recently grabbing the headlines for their impressive goalscoring ability, one pundit and former Premier League striker has shared his thoughts on how Ronaldo would fare if he were the one playing up front for City rather than Haaland.

Darren Bent claims Cristiano Ronaldo would be just as good as Erling Haaland for Man City
Following Ronaldo’s latest milestone, Darren Bent had this to say in a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel on whether the 39-year-old could score the same number of goals that Haaland has been for City.
He said: “I think he’d score goals because that team there [create chances].
“A lot of people made a lot of fuss about Haaland’s touches, but all he’s got to do is finish off the chances they create.
“If that’s Ronaldo, you give him the same opportunities, he’s scoring the exact same goals.”
Haaland could reach Ronaldo’s goalscoring numbers
Having scored so many goals throughout what has undeniably been a very impressive career, there’s no doubt that Ronaldo is one of the greatest goalscorers in the history of the game.
With Haaland having 232 goals in 284 senior club appearances at the age of 24, there’s every chance that he could go on to reach a similar number of goals to the Al-Nassr striker if he can play for as long as he has.
In fact, Ian Wright said that Haaland could reach Ronaldo’s goal tally given the form he’s shown recently.
