Adebayo Akinfenwa has said that Kevin De Bruyne is better than Mesut Ozil.
The pundit was asked this question about whether De Bruyne or the German legend come out on top by GOAL via TikTok.
This seems to have been a much-discussed debate, considering Ozil and the Manchester City icon are considered as legendary, modern-day attacking midfielders.

The Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer and popular pundit, Alan Shearer described the 32-year-old as a “centre-forward’s dream” due to his incredible range of passing and vision.
Jack Grealish also praised his Sky Blues teammate for being the best chance-creator in the world, while Matheus Nunes said that he has “looked up to” the decorated midfielder for years.
When Adebayo Akinfenwa was quizzed about whether Kevin De Bruyne or Mesut Ozil was better by GOAL via TikTok, he replied, “De Bruyne.”

In our view, Adebayo Akinfenwa made the right choice by picking Kevin De Bruyne over Mesut Ozil.
While both of them have been elite chance-creators during their careers, the Belgian international has been the far more consistent performer.
Mesut Ozil was at the peak of his powers at Real Madrid and while he impressed for a couple of seasons for Arsenal, his run at the very top was quite shortlived in England.
The same cannot be said for Kevin De Bruyne, who has arguably been the best midfielder in the world since joining Manchester City in 2015.
In addition, De Bruyne also has more to his game than Ozil.
The 32-year-old’s ball-carrying, crossing and goalscoring ability is on another level to the retired technician.
Mesut Ozil’s workrate often used to be one of his biggest weaknesses unlike in Kevin De Bruyne’s case, who is one of the most industrious midfielders around, which makes him a player adaptable across all eras of football.
While some might argue that Ozil has outperformed De Bruyne at the international level, it can also be said that the latter has done so in Europe, winning the Champions League in a treble-winning campaign.
All in all, as exceptional a player as the World Cup winner was, Kevin De Bruyne is truly one of one as attacking midfielders go.
