Manchester City could be set for a busy final week in the transfer window.
City have brought in Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol already, and Jeremy Doku is in line to become the club’s third addition of the summer.
But it’s thought the club could swoop for another midfielder to finish things off.
And Eberechi Eze is thought to be of interest to City.
Eze has really impressed for Crystal Palace in recent times and is seen as a technical midfielder who could thrive in Pep Guardiola’s side.
And he’s a player who is highly thought of by former Manchester City player and coach Patrick Vieira.
What Patrick Vieira has said about Man City target Eberechi Eze
Vieira spent lots of time working with Eze when he was manager at Selhurst Park.

And Eze was perhaps the best performer under the Frenchman, along with Wilfried Zaha and Michael Olise.
Speaking about Eze in October 2022, Vieira said of the 25-year-old after playing him as more of a number eight (via cpfc.co.uk) “The position is new for him, but he has the quality to perform well.
“When you look at the first game he played [in a more central position] and [compare it to] the games he’s played since, he’s become more confident and understands the role in that position.
“You have to give him time as well. I want him to be more decisive in the final third, I think he has the quality to score more goals and impact the game – he will get there.”
City should do their utmost to sign Ebere Eze
After missing out on Lucas Paqueta, a move for Eze is welcome news.
The star has been developing nicely at Palace and it does just feel now like he’s ready to make that step up.
He would be a brilliant fit in City’s system.

The £30,000-a-week star’s technical ability is superb, and he would be brilliant playing in one of the two advanced midfield positions.
Palace will not want to lose Eze so close to the end of the window.
But City have lost Kevin De Bruyne and need to act.
