Real Madrid now offered chance to sign £150,000-a-week Manchester City player

Real Madrid have now been offered the chance to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City.

That is according to Defensa Central in Spain.

So, what is the latest on Kalvin Phillips at Manchester City? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the £150,000-a-week man looks destined to leave the Etihad Stadium in 2024.

Phillips recently said “I want minutes” after Pep Guardiola overlooked him in the absence of Rodri.

A story from ESPN adds that the 27-year-old is keen to leave Manchester City, after making just two Premier League starts since his £45m move from Leeds in July 2022.

Now – if the Spanish giants are interested – a shock move to Real Madrid could be on.

Defensa Central believe Real Madrid have been offered the chance to sign Phillips for a sum of €50m (£43m) – although Carlo Ancelotti’s side are not keen at that price.

The England international has only made six appearances under Guardiola so far this season – the Spaniard and his coaches allegedly believe the midfielder is struggling to move the ball quickly in tight spaces at Manchester City, which is why Rodri is heavily preferred.

Kalvin Phillips has other options aside from Real Madrid

We doubt a move to Real Madrid will happen for Phillips – unless Manchester City drastically reduce that asking price.

Nevertheless, the Manchester City No.4 still has some fantastic options on the table, if reports are true.

The Northern Echo believe Newcastle are very interested in Phillips and would love to have him at St James’ Park – that feeling may only have increased now Sandro Tonali has been temporarily banned from football.

Elsewhere, Sky Germany claim that Juventus, Bayern Munich and also Liverpool are looking at the Yorkshireman.

Therefore, if a dream move to Real Madrid does not happen, Phillips could still find himself at an elite club, even after leaving Manchester City.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen in 2024.
