It has been reported that Kyle Walker is now considering turning down Bayern Munich in favour of staying put at Manchester City.
This comes from the Sun, after it was claimed on Sunday that Thomas Tuchel’s side were fearing that the £50 million (Guardian) man was merely using their name to land a new contract at City.
Now, it seems Bayern Munich have yet another reason to be worried as Kyle Walker may now end up prolonging his stay at Manchester City.
Kyle Walker could now reject Bayern transfer in favour of Manchester City contract extension
Branded as ‘truly exceptional’ by Paul Lake, the treble-winner was reported to have been gutted about his lack of game time last season.
On top of that, the England international was dropped from the starting line-up of the Sky Blues’ Champions League final against Inter Milan, which also left him feeling utterly disappointed.
Now, it has been revealed that Kyle Walker is ‘considering a U-turn’ over his future at Manchester City, turning down the offer from Bayern Munich to join them this summer.

This is due to the fact that the veteran has been ‘surprised’ by the ‘generous’ two-year contract offer made by the Sky Blues, as he aims to make a final decision over his future after he returns from his trip to Las Vegas next week.
It is key to emphasise that even now, the option to sign for the Bundesliga juggernaut remains an option for Walker, who holds Tuchel in high regard and has eyed the opportunity to play abroad for a number of years.
Keeping Kyle Walker should be a priority for the Sky Blues
With Ilkay Gundogan having joined Barcelona, the sale of Kyle Walker to Bayern Munich could mean Manchester City end up losing yet another key dressing room figure in the same summer.
Also, the possibility of Bernardo Silva’s exit remains high, which could lead to excessive amounts of pressure on the current squad and new signings to step up when it matters most due to the loss of such instrumental figures at the club.
In addition to these factors, the former Tottenham right-back’s extended stay also affords Rico Lewis more time to gradually succeed him instead of having to take over the mantle instantly.
Plus, with Walker’s unique ability of taming any and every winger in the world, it does help Guardiola and Co. that he could stay put for just a little longer to do what perhaps no other full-back can do to his level.
