Report: Man City now firmly reject official bid from UCL giants to sign ‘amazing’ £43m player

It has now been reported that Manchester City have rejected an official bid from PSG to sign Bernardo Silva this summer.

This comes from Le10Sport, as the £43 million (BBC Sport) man continues to be linked with a transfer elsewhere.

Now, it seems like while PSG have formalised their interest to bring Bernardo Silva to the Parc des Princes, Manchester City have been unimpressed by their attempt to do so.

Manchester City reject official PSG bid to sign Bernardo Silva

Branded as ‘amazing’ by Gary Neville, the 28-year-old admitted in June that he was still undecided about where his future lies ahead of next season.

Since the summer of 2020, the Portuguese international has come close to leaving the Etihad Stadium, but has always ended up staying put at the club.

But this time around, while PSG have submitted an official bid to sign Bernardo Silva, Manchester City have delivered a ‘firm response’ by snubbing their interest, despite being open to having discussions over a sale.

For now, it has been reported that first things first, the value of the bid remains unknown and secondly, City ‘refuse’ to sell the versatile attacker, who aims to bid farewell to the blue half of Manchester.

It has also been claimed that it is likely that much like during the previous summer transfer window, Pep Guardiola’s stance about keeping the treble-winner at all costs remains the same.

Manchester City should stray away from their usual selling policy this time around

While Manchester City are known to be happy to sell any player that eyes an exit, such as PSG-linked Bernardo Silva in this case, the club will only do so if they can bank a fee that they deem satisfactory.

However, the English juggernaut tend to let players leave at will, if they no longer see themselves being on the same ship as them.

But with Bernardo Silva potentially being the Sky Blues’ mainstay at right-wing next season, with Riyad Mahrez linked with an exit, the club should consider blocking a transfer from any suitor.

Silva is perhaps one of, if not the most multifaceted player in world football and to lose such a key figure like him in midfield as well and in general, especially after Gundogan’s exit would be a huge blow.

Keeping the five-time Premier League winner by any means necessary should be the club’s priority, as his loss would leave a gaping hole out wide and in the middle of the park.
