Manchester City are admirers of Bayer Leverkusen No.10 Florian Wirtz amid his remarkable rise in Germany.
That is according to The Athletic as we head into the January transfer window.
So, what are the chances of Manchester City signing Florian Wirtz in January? Let’s take a look…
Chances of Manchester City signing Wirtz in January
Well, it was The Athletic who revealed that Manchester City like the Germany international, although the news outlet poured cold water on any chance of a January deal.
It is said that a move for Wirtz in January has been deemed off limits by Bayer Leverkusen, with no major moves of that ilk expected to happen at the Etihad Stadium this month.
Manchester City are said to have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action earlier this season.

Those in attendance were surely left impressed by what they saw – Wirtz has impressively scored eight goals while also providing 12 assists in 23 appearances this term.
A story from TEAMtalk in Germany claimed that Manchester City have been quoted a sum of £87m to sign the Pulheim-born attacking midfielder.
Manchester City have already made one signing
It may only be the second day of 2024 – however, Manchester City have already been busy.
A £22m deal has been agreed with River Plate for the signing of Claudio Echeverri, and his arrival could even be announced this week.
The Argentina U17 international will – however – be loaned back to River Plate for a considerable amount of time, perhaps even into 2025.

Leeds United wonderkid Finlay Gorman is also heading to Manchester City – having already posted a farewell message to the Whites on Instagram ahead of his record breaking move.
Be sure to keep an eye on developments at the Etihad Stadium, as more transfer activity could take place in January.
