After Oscar Bobb suffered a long-term injury, it was only natural to ponder whether Manchester City would go out and sign a direct replacement for him.
However, it was reported shortly after that City expect Bobb to return this year from his fractured leg.

The Oslo-born attacker also understands Guardiola’s demands far more than Savinho — who only signed for the club in July.
However, a report by The Athletic has revealed that Manchester City do not intend to sign a winger in the summer to replace Bobb now.
It has been claimed that the Premier League winners were aware within hours of the highly-rated technician’s injury that he would return to full fitness later this year.
As a result, City internally feel that the acquisition of another winger would mean Bobb would have to take a step down in their pecking order of wide forwards.
Furthermore, it is believed that the English giants informed the agents they are working with during the summer transfer window that there mindset remains one of “no panic” even after the setback.

The versatile forward’s progress would inevitably be halted if City were to sign another winger — considering it already seems unlikely that he will get regular minutes in midfield this season due to Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic already being at the club.
