After Oscar Bobb suffered a long-term injury, it was only natural to ponder whether Manchester City would go out and sign a direct replacement for him.
However, it was reported shortly after that City expect Bobb to return this year from his fractured leg.
But even so, one would not expect the £50,000-a-week man to find it difficult to hit the ground running straightaway after he recovers from an injury that could keep him out for a couple of months.
If Savinho, who seems to be the Norwegian’s replacement also sustains an injury, Manchester City would find themselves in a bit of a crisis as far as the right-wing department goes.
With less than two weeks left in the summer transfer window, it would be worth City’s time to consider whether they must reinforce the position due to Bobb’s latest setback.

Man City know how will deal with Bobb injury in the summer transfer window
The 21-year-old’s injury must have come as a major disappointment for Pep Guardiola — considering the City boss looked like he had decided that it was high-time that the youngster became a starter.
After progressing as a first-team player during pre-season with his scintillating performances, Bobb may feel as if he has taken a few steps back due to the mistimed injury he has suffered.
The Oslo-born attacker also understands Guardiola’s demands far more than Savinho — who only signed for the club in July.
However, a report by The Athletic has revealed that Manchester City do not intend to sign a winger in the summer to replace Bobb now.
It has been claimed that the Premier League winners were aware within hours of the highly-rated technician’s injury that he would return to full fitness later this year.
As a result, City internally feel that the acquisition of another winger would mean Bobb would have to take a step down in their pecking order of wide forwards.
Furthermore, it is believed that the English giants informed the agents they are working with during the summer transfer window that there mindset remains one of “no panic” even after the setback.
Man City have reacted perfectly to the Oscar Bobb injury
With how talented Bobb is coupled with his experience in the senior side, Manchester City perhaps feel no need to sign a replacement for him.
Considering both Savinho and Jeremy Doku can also play on the right flank, the Sky Blues already have sufficient options within their ranks to replace the Premier League champion until he is fit to play again.
The versatile forward’s progress would inevitably be halted if City were to sign another winger — considering it already seems unlikely that he will get regular minutes in midfield this season due to Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic already being at the club.
Manchester City have chosen to remain calm and composed instead of reactive to Bobb’s injury; an approach that they tend to usually take in the transfer window and it leaves them in good stead.
Once the FA Community Shield winner returns to full fitness, their patience will be rewarded as he remains a top talent who is ready to explode into life this campaign.
