Man City set sights on latest contract conquest after Guardiola update

Earlier this week, it was reported by The Athletic that Guardiola has agreed to sign a contract extension for him to manage City for an extra year, with the option for another year added onto that.

Even though an official announcement has yet to be made, a report from The Sun has now shared some insight into which player contract situations the Manchester club will now turn their attention to.

Specifically, the Blues will aim to get Erling Haaland to sign a contract extension worth a total package of £100m that would see the striker pledge the next four to five years of his future to the club.

Beyond that, City will look to offer Rodri a new deal, as well as work out what Kevin De Bruyne’s future will hold.

The Belgian – whose current deal is set to expire in the summer – “will be free to open talks with foreign clubs in January and may have to accept a reduced role and wages if he decides to stay beyond the 10-year mark at the Etihad.”

Txiki Begiristain could leave City on a high with key contract deals

Earlier this month, it was reported that City have received a “positive response” about the offer they’ve made to Haaland from his family and his agent, Rafaela Pimenta.

With Txiki Begiristain set to leave City in the summer, if he could walk away from the club after having seen Haaland, De Bruyne and Rodri sign new deals beforehand as well as Guardiola, he would undoubtedly be leaving on a high note.
