Manchester City have seen their fair share of top players join the club since Pep Guardiola was appointed as their manager.
With City having won the Treble just over a year ago, the club are now on the hunt to win a fifth consecutive Premier League title.
Ahead of Sunday’s big top-flight clash against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium, one pundit and former City star has shared his thoughts on one particular figure in Guardiola’s ranks who has played a big role in making the Blues the domestic and European heavyweights they are today.

Shaun Wright-Phillips says Erling Haaland is completely different to anyone else
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Shaun Wright-Phillips had this to say when asked about Erling Haaland.
He said: “I think he’s completely different from most strikers, possibly even in the world.
“He has a knack for not being involved in the game for long periods, but when you give him one touch in the box, it’s almost like he’s had multiple touches leading up to that moment.
“Once he gets that chance, he works on a clean strike, especially inside the box. For me, it’s a unique skill.
“What has impressed me most over the years is that his all-around game has improved. He gets more assists than people think and works hard.”
Haaland has been a top signing for City
City paid £51m to sign the striker from Borussia Dortmund back in the 2022 summer transfer window after scoring 86 goals in 89 games for the German club.
During his time as a City player, Haaland has scored 99 goals in 104 games across all competitions, helping his side win multiple trophies in the process.
He’s also provided 14 assists across those games as well, showing that he is more than just a top goalscorer.
Wright-Phillips isn’t the only pundit to share how impressed he’s been with the Norwegian, as his dad Ian Wright claimed that Haaland could become just like Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of his goalscoring numbers.
Having proved to be a top signing for the club, the 24-year-old still has the time ahead of him to break even more records and help his side win even more trophies if he can keep scoring on a regular basis.
