Alan Shearer loved what Bernardo Silva did as Manchester City recorded a 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park.
The 53-year-old was speaking on commentary duty for Amazon Prime.
So, what did Alan Shearer say about Bernardo Silva? Let’s take a look…
What Alan Shearer said about Bernardo Silva
Well, the Geordie – who knows a thing or two about finishing with 260 Premier League goals to his name – hailed the Portugal international for the manner in which he took his chance.
Silva cemented the win for Manchester City in the 86th minute with a fantastic finish, taking advantage of a mistake by Jordan Pickford to delightfully curl the ball into the net.
Speaking about the Manchester City No.20’s delicate effort, Shearer – who also praised Phil Foden – said: “What a finish that is. So clever. Cool and very calm.
“I don’t know what Jordan Pickford is playing at. He has got to just get it clear. What a finish that is from Bernardo Silva though. The way Jarrad Branthwaite is pulling him doesn’t affect his shot at all. Magnificent.”

The Everton No.1 may have been off his line, although the £43m man still had a lot to do with James Tarkowski running back to defend – it was a finish of the highest order, to say the least.
Bernardo Silva instrumental once again for Manchester City
Pep Guardiola has a number of key men at the Etihad Stadium, although Silva is right up there with the Spaniard’s most important cogs alongside Rodri.
The Portuguese maestro was hugely effective against Everton, providing one goal and one assist to help Manchester City come from 1-0 down.

As WhoScored shows, Silva registered two key passes at Goodison Park and recorded a pass success rate of 80.3% on a night where he and Foden both stepped up for Manchester City, in the absence of Erling Haaland.
After almost joining PSG in the summer, Guardiola will surely be delighted that his No.20 stayed in Manchester.
