Manchester City are regularly linked with transfer moves for some of the best players in the world.

In previous transfer windows, the Citizens have shown how capable they are when it comes to signing some exciting young talents.

For example, the previous summer window saw Pep Guardiola’s side land deals to bring Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku to the Etihad Stadium.

In the midst of another transfer period, City have once again been linked with several top-level players.

Now though, one pundit has shared his thoughts on someone the Manchester club have reportedly had their eyes on.

Gabby Agbonlahor shares what he’s noticed about Man City transfer target Jamal Musiala

When assessing some of the standout players of the tournament in a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel, Gabby Agbonlahor had this to say about Jamal Musiala and what he does on the pitch.

He said: “When I am watching him, he gets on the ball, and no matter where he receives the ball on the pitch, on the flanks or in the middle, his first thought is, ‘Can I get turn against someone?’

“When he sees players around him, it pains him to pass it backwards.”

Musiala is a star

The Bayern Munich midfielder, who The Guardian reported back in April City are interested in signing, was one of the seven players to start all five of Germany’s games in the 2024 European Championship before they were knocked out by Spain in the quarter-final round.

Across those five games, Musiala not only scored more goals (3) than any other German player, he also racked up more progressive carries (28) than any other player in the squad, as well as ending the tournament with the second-highest total of progressive passes (22) out of any midfielder.

This backs up what Agbonlahor had to say about the 21-year-old, who we think would be a star signing for City, always wanting to move the ball forward when he gets it.

Taking all of that on board, we think that Musiala, who Aymeric Laporte recently described as being “different class”, should definitely be at the top of City’s transfer target list.
