Manchester City will be taking on fellow title rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

With four victories secured already in this campaign, City will be aiming to make it five out of five and pull five points away from the Gunners with a win.

Ahead of this big match at the Etihad Stadium, one pundit and former top-flight manager has shared his thoughts on one particular City player and what he could do in the game.

Tim Sherwood makes Erling Haaland claim ahead of Man City vs Arsenal

While previewing City’s upcoming clash with the Gunners in a recent edition of Team Talks by Premier League Productions (via Optus Sport), Tim Sherwood had this to say about Erling Haaland and the role he could play in this particular game.

He said: “I think he can’t just worry about scoring at the weekend. He needs to realise he’s doing a job for the team.

“He’s taking Gabriel and [William] Saliba out of the way for other players to have the space to be able to create. It’s not, the winner is not going to come from this man but he can play a massive role for the team.

“And it might go unnoticed to the untrained eye watching at home, but he will play a huge part.”

Haaland will be desperate to make an impact against Arsenal

Ahead of City’s 2-1 win over Brentford, Thomas Frank said that Haaland’s movement on the pitch makes him almost impossible to subdue, which is what he’ll be looking to do against Arsenal in terms of being a handful for their defence.

Having completed the full 90 minutes in both of City’s league games against Arsenal last season, Haaland was unable to find the back of the net in either match.

Therefore, he undoubtedly be eager to continue his scoring streak this season and help his side secure a victory this time around.

Also, with the Norwegian just one goal away from his 100th for City in all competitions, this will give him extra motivation to get on the scoresheet on Sunday.

Even though Sherwood has highlighted other areas of the game where the striker will be important for his side, the main objective for Haaland and City on this occasion will be to pick up all three points.
