While ‘blind ranking’ the 10 best strikers in the current edition of the Champions League, Troy Deeney claimed Haaland is easily the standout player in his position while going on to place Mbappe in second place.
Deeney first hailed the Norwegian on CBS Sports: “Number one. Doesn’t matter.”
“Without a doubt, has everything, young, ability, the hunger and the desire to score loads of goals. Physically, he’s a specimen. He’s a good looking chap as well isn’t he so all in all, number one for me.”
On Mbappe, the pundit added: “There you go, that’s why you leave number two open.”
Marc-Andre ter Stegen picked Haaland over Mbappe while claiming that the gap between the pair is “really little.”
Chelsea legend John Terry sided with Haaland over Mbappe as well.
However, Fabio Capello claimed Mbappe is a “better footballer” than Haaland and stated that he possesses the superior technical quality.

Since Haaland and Mbappe are playing in the same position, the comparisons between the pair do not seem like they will come to a halt anytime soon.
